If you enjoyed watching that video in which a girl blends her foundation with her boyfriend’s testicles, this is not the post for you.
Sometimes I stumble upon a YouTube video and the only thing I can do is sigh and wonder why. Why would someone do that? Why do people watch it? Is it like a car crash, terrible – but you can’t look away? There are so many wonderful tips and tricks that make your makeup look flawless, why do people waste their time with things whose result can at best be mediocre? I have no clue. Maybe I have a weirder sense of humour, or maybe I am too uptight about makeup, however these are some beauty trends I truly hate.
Trying to blend your foundation with all kinds of stupid shit
I guess you saw this one coming, right? Why, when there are so so so many wonderful brushes, sponges and devices that create that flawless finish whyyyyyy would you try to blend you foundation with a pair of balls? And by balls I do not mean round beauty blenders, no, I mean testicles. The list of stupid shit used as blending devices includes condoms, marshmallows, eggs, a silicone bra insert and a lightbulb. Whyyyyyyy???? Where does it end? I mean, when people started using condoms, I thought that’s as far as it can go, but then the beauty scene moved onto ball blending. I am physically scared for what might come next.
A million layers of crap
Also known as a hundred layers of waste. My distaste towards this trend might also have something to do with the fact that I absolutely hate wasting makeup. I hate waste in general. My man likes joking that I am a cheap ass hoe, however I like calling it being responsible. So, my stomach is churning with each and every single layer that’s applied. It’s obvious as fuck that the end result is going to be terrible, the video/process is not exactly funny either, so whyyyyy?
Applying makeup with weird household items
Kind of in tune with the first one, however people are taking it to the next level by using household and weird shit to apply all kinds of makeup, not just foundation. From using a fidget spinner and a pair of scissors to blend contouring, to using a shoe all over your face, this trend is taking it way too far.
When I first thought about this post, I honestly thought there would be more. Sure, there are other trends I personally don’t dig when it comes to what they look like, however that’s up to each and every one’s personal taste and it’s not up to me to say whether they are stupid of not. These, however, besides being stupid, can also be damaging to your skin or downright dangerous.
