If your motto is “more is more and less is a bore” welcome, we’ve been expecting you.
We love excess & exuberance, especially when it comes to beauty. By that, we don’t mean that we enjoy putting on half a bottle of foundation at a time (although I’m pretty sure Alexander would do that), but colours, textures, more, more, more. I’m the kind of person who’d rather go bare faced than only put on a base and some mascara, so the fact that Excessive Colours is the trend that Sephora is recommending for this summer has got me pretty excited. I am SO bored of the classical cat eyes, browns, greys, dark looks, let’s switch it up and add some colour. Here’s our proposed looks.
The Pink Fairy
A colourful look doesn’t necessarily mean a million crazy colours, it can also be something tame and dare I say very wearable? I know I might be a little eccentric, but I see nothing wrong with wearing this during the day, at the office even.
The Pink Fairy after 3 Malibu-Pineapples
The Pink Fairy has been to the office, worked really hard all day and then went out for a couple of drinks – she deserves it. Before doing so, she touched up a little, to make her look more suitable for an enchanted night. PS: this is one cool festival look, too.
- Sweet Peach Creamy Peach Oil Lip Gloss
- Aqua XL Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner in Iridescent Pop Green
- Ink Liner in Lustrous Yellow
This look speaks innocence, just look into my/Bambi’s eyes. A little darkness in the crease, just a hint at the darkness we’re all hiding within. This one is pretty wearable too, ok, maybe if you skip the lipstick, but otherwise, Bambi’s good to go to the office too.
Pink-Eyed Bambi Trying to Get In For Free at Untold
While the Pink-Eyed Bambi was pretty festival ready as it is, I find summer festivals the place to go crazy, so I spiced things up a bit. All the lines I added are representative for the fences Bambi will attempt at jumping over (or digging beneath) this summer. #FestivalReady
Moral of the day: While colourful looks might not be your cup of tea for your everyday life, we think you should give them a chance this summer. They’re really fun and for us, the best part was finding different uses for the same products – we find mix and matching a lot easier & impactful when the products are in popping colours.
