Scorn? Angst? Cringe? Anger? Keyboard wars?
Naah. That’s what some might assume, though. I feel like feminism is getting a bad rep lately and unfortunately, it’s getting worse, rather than improving. As a movement becomes more and more popular, it’s only natural that extremist branches appear. Instead of bringing those forward and helping them gain popularity, I think people should focus on choosing the core values that are close to their hearts and follow them. You think what women in the western cultures go through is bullshit and that they don’t need feminism anymore? Cool, focus on helping women in other parts of the world, who live in unfavourable environments. Think equal pay is a non-issue? Focus on fighting poverty. Think body hair is a non-issue? Fight against female genital mutilation.
It’ll always be SO much easier to rant against something you don’t agree with, than actually DO something to help any cause you believe in, whether it’s female related or not. Sadly, people are a lot more eager to start keyboard fights than to actually fight for something offline. My point is, it’s up to you whether you choose to be super triggered by “feminaziz” or you take what you believe in from the feminist movement and use it to do good. But, we’re derailing, again. Bad Patricia. Today we’re talking scents. Feminist scents, to be precise.
Blood orange. Hazelnut. Pink peppercorn. Clary sage.
This is what feminists smell like. Maybe not all of them, but the ones who use Reek Perfume’s Damn Rebel Bitches sure do smell that nice. I am one of them. Why? At first, I wanted to be a Damn Rebel Bitch because I could think of few things cooler than a feminist fragrance. I’m a sucker for products with a story, a message, especially those with one I so deeply believe in. Nothing makes a product more desirable for me than if the brand stands for something.
Then, I fell in love with its actual scent (you usually have to like a perfume to wear it?! crazy, I know!). It’s so different than what I’d usually go for. My scents are usually sweet, but kind of fresh – kind of childish, if you will. Damn Rebel Bitches is quite the opposite of that – sultry, powerful, enchanting.
