For when it’s hotter than it probably is in hell, yet you still have to go outside.
As logical as it sounds, unfortunately the answer is not to stop drinking water until you no longer have an ounce of liquid in your body so there’s no way you could sweat or produce sebum. It’s easier than that and less life threatening. It involves 4 little Benefit Cosmetics products and no dehydration whatsoever. Let’s get down to it shall we?
1. The POREfessional Face Primer
Even though this is not the first product in the anti public enemy no #1 – mr oily face routine, I wanted to start with it. Why? It’s the first face primer I ever bought in 7th or 8th grade I think, which is more than 8 years ago and it’s probably the only makeup product I bought more than 4 times. It’s my go-to primer during summer, I can’t even begin to describe how much I love it. It leaves the skin silky smooth, it does not have an overpowering scent and it sets faster than it takes a bunny to copulate (don’t ask). It’s the only primer I’ve used that keeps my face matte for more than 5 hours on a summer day. It’s one of the products that I will always wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who’s dealing with oily issues. It’s also one of the very few primers I’ve used that gets along with all my foundations, even the MAC ones (in my own experience, MAC foundations only play nice with MAC primers or powders). So, if you’re looking for a something to work wonders on your oily face, stop praying to Jesus and get this baby.
2. The POREfessional Matte Rescue Invisible Finish Mattifying Gel
This one is actually the first in line, it’s a pre-primer primer meant to boost the results of the aforementioned primer. It has a very lightweight, gel-ish texture that feels super refreshing when applied on the skin. You might wonder why you need a pre-primer primer? Well, on days such as these, when you start sweating even before you open the door to step outside, you need all the allies you can get. Especially if your skin loooves the oil. If the primer alone saves me for around 5 hours, this one keeps me matte for up to 8. How cool is that?
The POREfessional Pore Minimizing Makeup
The first time I saw this product I didn’t exactly know what it was. I was like ok, it says makeup on the packaging but then again, there are a lot of different makeup products on this planet so WHAT ARE YOU. After the initial panic, I have come to the realisation that it is a super lightweight foundation, just right for days in which you wanna go for that no makeup makeup look. The finish is matte and I think it’s the first foundation type product for which I actually use the applicator it came with.
The POREfessional Agent Zero Shine
And here is our final stop, the powder you can use to top up this delish anti shine cake. First of all, I love the packaging. Besides the powder itself, you also get a tiiiiny teensy cutesy brush you can use to apply it with – and that’s why you can just throw it in your purse and reapply throughout the day if things get shiny. The powder sets all them layers and adds another mattifying shield to the mattfying force of nature you’ve already got on your face. It has no scent, it doesn’t leave the face powdery and I guess that’s it, right? What else do we want our powder to do? Pay the bills for one, but hey, you can’t have it all.
Besides mattifying, this line also has a pore minimising and blurring effect. That I can’t really talk about since I am not exactly a good example. While you could fry eggs on my face at noon if I don’t use the right products, I don’t have a pore issue – I can’t even see them (that’s also probably due to the fact that I can’t see shit lately and I really need to get my eyes checked). Given the fact that I don’t have an issue with my pores, it wouldn’t be fair for me to say that they also do wonders in minimising the appearance of pores, since mine are suuper tiny to begin with.
